Michael Boler brings over 30 years of community leadership experience to his role as CEN Church Advisor. His gifts in leadership, emergency management, public relations and organizational development strengthen his ability to assist others through the Emergency Management process. Michael’s recent involvement in establishing ReadyIndy laid the foundation for him to move into the role of CEN Church Advisor to assist churches and ministries in assessing their local crisis response capacities and to be a part of CEN’s Biblical Readiness Project – equipping every Christian to respond biblically to emergencies large and small.

Jon McHatton, Director of Field Operations, and has been a pastor active in public and community development for over thirty years. Growing up in a home with a rich spiritual heritage, he quickly found his area of gifting within the body of Christ building bridges for effective citywide collaboration and teamwork. Jon has established a number of businesses, community programs, churches, and ministries; He has assisted in mobilizing community health, wellness, and fitness clinics with continued Life Wholeness Training. He served as Chaplain of the Arizona Legislature for four years.
Founder and President of CARE INC, Jon established For Our City a strategic program for civic, business, nonprofit and faith leaders to collaborate for community transformation. For Our City is active in six counties and ten municipalities in Arizona and growing internationally.
As part of his role as Director of Field Operations, Jon developed the CEN HURT training a basic readiness, response and recovery training for leaders. Emergency expertise combined with his many years of experience as a pastor, trainer and city-wide network specialist positions him well to advance the ReadyChristianSM, ReadyChurchSM, and ReadyCitySM programs of the Christian Emergency Network. Jon’s heartbeat is to see cities biblically ready to respond in times of crisis.
Patrick Hamman, MA, MS, CTSS

Pat Hamman is an ordained pastor with a heart for those in crisis and a passion for equipping those who minister to survivors of emergencies of all kinds. Armed with an extensive professional disaster education and field experience Pat is sought after as a church trainer. His work as a seasoned police and fire chaplain, Director of the Washington-based City Chaplain ministry, as well as his work in city collaboration initiatives related to emergency response and recovery, keeps Pat on the cutting edge as a CEN Church Advisor. In his role as CEN Church Advisor Pat uses his unique skills and experience to assist churches and ministries in assessing their local crisis response capacities and to be a part of CEN’s Biblical Readiness Project – equipping every Christian to respond biblically to emergencies large and small.
Edward Smith

Ed Smith, the Deputy Executive Director and Director of Disaster Response for Victim Relief Ministries (VRM) and a National Trainer for- Victim Chaplains and Counselors Association, brings his expertise in spiritual, emotional, mental and physical care to CEN as a Church Advisor.
At VRM, he has been a Chaplain Responder at Command Level or on staff at VRM for 11 of their first 13 years, serving as a volunteer even while working full time in various positions or other ministries. He has led or been a part of most of the 154 VRM disaster deployments since 9/11. He also brings 25 years of experience from working at executive levels with airlines, charter airlines, tour wholesale operations and tour development, travel writer, travel radio shows, internet travel companies and hotel sales and operations that allowed me to travel and work in 51 nations.
He is certified in/as:
- Trauma Responder under sponsorship of Dr. H Norman Wright
- CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management)
- Operational Stress First Aid qualified and trained as a trainer
- Grief and Trauma Certified through VCCA
- Incident Command- A variety of certifications including ICS- 100, 200, 700, 800 and ICS- 820.
Mike Marshall

Mike Marshall has always had a passion for the lost. At the age of 11, Mike surrendered his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and has been faithfully serving Him ever since. Mike's strong background in radio and media operations and his skill with computers have led him to his present leadership position with the Christian Emergency Network as Operations Director.
Beginning in 1992, as operations and technical adviser to several national ministries, he utilized his varied talents, particularly his creativity in designing web sites, maintenance and technical support to advance ministry. His heart for discipleship, combined with his technical abilities is invaluable to those who team with him.
Joining the CEN team in September of 2001, Mike has had an intentional focus on living a biblically ready life combined with applying his technical and operational talents. He enjoys assisting CEN partners to achieve their mission in a variety of ways. Mike resides in Arizona with his wife and 3 children.
Misti McHatton

With over twelve years of non-profit, small business, corporate and ministry experience, Misti took a position with Christian Emergency Network (CEN) in 2009 to develop the Christian Emergency Directory. Her responsibilities have grown to include administrative assistant and Director of Communications for CEN.
Misti has a BA in Global Business, a minor in International Relations and Public Policy and an MA in Emergency and Disaster Management. She is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), AZ Community Emergency Response Training (CERT), a participant on the Executive Committee for AZ Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (AZVOAD), and a member of the Washington DC Chapter of Infragard.
Misti has traveled extensively worldwide giving her a worldview of the Christian Emergency Network ministry, including living in a children’s home in Northern Thailand for three years teaching English and computers.
In her role as Director of Communications she is the Public Information Officer for the CEN national team, which serves churches and citywide groups worldwide.
