Sunday in Flagstaff---No stopping the people of the God!

The snow is piled high but not as high as the Spirit of the Lord in Flagstaff Arizona.

Sunday morning at Grace Community Church the auditorium was completely filled.  There is no stopping the people of God who desire to gather together to praise and worship God.

The sound was exhilarating as the voices of the redeemed lifted high the name of Jesus in song.

No electronic equipment was available, no materials for children's church, not even offering baskets were available today.  This Church meets regularly in Sinagua High School where weekly a team of dedicated individuals load and unload trailers filled with supplies for Sunday morning service, now those trailers are buried under mounts of snow impossible to dig out ...no worry, all that is needed is the presence of God, people to lift His name, His word, His messenger, and hearts dedicated to worship and praise the only One worthy, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Pastor Mark Smith of Grace Community Church reminded the family gathered together today of Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Congregations all over the Flagstaff community plowed and dug their way out today, joining together praising God for safety and grateful for the beauty of worshiping together on His day.

Thanks for the encouraging words Sandie. This was the strongest storm we've had since we moved to Flagstaff in 1993. And it may well have been one of the best church services I've experienced. We call it "Grace Unplugged" when we can't use our normal equipment and have to improvise. God certainly was praised and honored as people dug out and enjoyed being together in His presence. Honestly, more than one person suggested we 'stage' a Grace Unplugged a little more often, without the snow storm! It was good to be on a conference call with the people of CEN on Saturday morning discussing the responses to the storm and the possibilities for then next crisis. Grateful for all you're doing.

YOU
YOU are a blessing!! Thanks for writing about Grace - I loved what you had to share!!
We were wondering if that is 1200 acts of violence in the USA in 2009 or around the globe??
Thanks for being you and for being such a blessing to so many people!!
Much joy to you,
Leslie

We can worship anyplace
We can easily get caught up in the programs, the glitz, the building and show. As we keep our hearts and minds on Christ, we are ready for worship in every season, in every place and circumstance.
